Calculator and notebook for reviewing funeral costs

A reliable funeral quotation depends on the arrangements required. An existing or new grave, the type of farewell, transport distance and selected equipment all affect the cost. The most useful answer is an itemised quotation for your family, with included and additional services clearly identified.

Separate the main cost categories

Ask for the quotation to distinguish:

  • Collection and transport, including the route.
  • Preparation and storage before the funeral, where needed.
  • The coffin and other equipment, with the model specified.
  • Cemetery services and charges for a grave or urn placement.
  • Administrative and organisational assistance.
  • Flowers, printing, the ceremony and other selected extras.

Not every quotation contains all these items. It should clearly state what the family receives and what is paid separately. Check the cemetery operator’s current tariff rather than relying on an old online price.

Comparing quotations fairly

One quotation may cover equipment and local transport, while another includes some cemetery costs. Comparing only the total will not tell you which service costs more. Match the scope first.

Give both providers the same collection point, cemetery, grave information and preferred type of farewell. Ask for exclusions to be listed separately and confirm whether applicable taxes are included.

Check possible additional charges

Clarify the price of extra kilometres, waiting time, route changes and extended storage. For international transport, check translation, consular and local charges separately.

Flowers and other additions should reflect the family’s wishes and budget. State your budget directly and ask for an offer within it.

What the Silans calculator shows

The Silans calculator gives an indicative estimate for the services, equipment and flowers selected. A flower arrangement with a listed price is included when selected; items marked “Price on request” require a confirmed quotation. Cemetery charges, newspaper notices and other services are included only when explicitly stated in the agreed offer.

How the PIO benefit affects payment

The published Serbian PIO funeral benefit for the death of a pension recipient in 2026 is RSD 85,686. Eligibility is checked individually; this does not mean every funeral cost is covered.

Once eligibility and documentation are confirmed, Silans immediately reduces the family’s payment by RSD 85,686. We submit the reimbursement paperwork and wait for payment instead of you. Select the Serbian pensioner option in the calculator for an indicative deduction; eligibility is confirmed before the final calculation.

Is there one price for every funeral? No. Different combinations of services require different quotations.

Does “complete funeral” guarantee no extras? Only the itemised offer and its conditions show that.
